Did all those games kick off the Fate series or was it as you said the VN those are all based on?

I don't deny those being games, but they're much like a Berserk musou there to please the fans who mainly got hooked on the VN original material.

The stuff you list is not a series but rather a brand slapped onto different genres.

And while SMT has spin offs it will always have the main games to fall back onto while Fate does not have that.
