I am of the opinion that everyone with the stomach for it should read Jack. Not because it's good (or at least not consistently good). You should read it for two reasons: the first is because it's unlike any other comic out there. It does things its own way, the sort of way that really only comes from geniuses and crazy people. It defies an uncountable number of storytelling conventions, both for better and for worse. The second reason you should read it is because it's an example of all the best and the worst aspects of webcomics. On the plus side, we have unconventional premises that would probably never see print outside of the internet, some of the best timing, both dramatic and comedic, I've ever seen in any comic ever, and some (and I do mean SOME) genuinely interesting and sympathetic characters. On the minus side, we get a pantsu-on-head retarded backstory (which includes the dumbest justification for furry characters in real world situations I've ever seen in my entire life), really shitty art with samefaces all over the place, an obvious lack of proofreading in some places, darkness and edginess to a laughable degree, and self-inserts (although those are arguably points in the comic's favor, in context. That doesn't make them any less self serving, but it's just another thing that you'd really never see outside of the world of webcomics). It also seems at times to be both incredibly self-aware and completely self-oblivious. It's strange and not in an entirely bad way.
Jack is the kind of comic which is mostly awful, but the parts that AREN'T awful are so memorable and fascinating that it makes it still worth reading. Maybe I'm just the kind of person who thinks that 20 pages of shit for 1 page of completely out-of-place brilliance is worth it, and I'm guessing that most people aren't. I still think that people should read it.

The short explanation is that Jack was the first of the hybrid sapient tests to succeed, his wife the second, and when she died he caused the furry uprising and extinction of humanity.
For his sins, fueled by passion and anger, he was given the title of Wrath when he died, and shoulders the job of Grim Reaper because none of the other sins will.

"Drip" is the spiritual embodiment of Lust, and the person who >>13901856 is describing. He's a recurring antagonist, and also the author's SECOND self-insert. Yes, David Hopkins is fucked in the head, and damn if he doesn't know it. Anyway, the reason Jack is acting like an asshole right now is because at this point in the story, Jack has basically absorbed Drip in order to keep him from fucking shit up, because he can't just kill him; being that they're both already dead, he'd just respawn in Hell if he died. I'm not entirely sure what Drip's stake in this story is though, other than "he's Lust and he wants people to get raped".

So, here's the thing. This comic, as I said, is both incredibly self-aware and self-oblivious. The moments of self awareness can be really, really hard-hitting though. Such as when the THIRD author self-insert (who is a normal person) says this gem.
I would also like to note that Hopkins KNOWS his art is shit. For proof, there's the arc "The Once Was Swan", which features Vanity (IE Pride) using a magic mirror to warp reality. And every time she does so, the art style changes, usually with guest artists. At the end, the mirror is broken, causing Vanity to weep that she will "never be pretty again". No joke.

This one is honestly played out as more for Lesbian Fanservice than anything else, and it has some actual jokes. The whole thing is about this hedonistic billionaire who got rich by making a FishGirl /monster/ hentai game called Pro Ass Fishing.
