Because AMD GPUs are absolute garbage as of now. Vega was an utter dissapointment. The RX570 competes with the 1060. It's a joke. I gave up on AMD as far as GPUs go.

I didn't. I want games that can run consistently at 60fps on 4k on very high or, if possible, ultra settings. Believe me, I wanted to get an AMD card. I even bought a Freesync monitor. But then, Vega came out and it's pretty fucking underwhelming.

Yeah, it's a good deal if you want something around the range of a 1060, but I really want good performance on 4k and I want my next GPU to be able to drive the next gen of VR headsets like this:

I'm skeptical since it's KS shit, but there are reports of people that have used it and it seems to solve many of current VR problems, especially motion sickness. I know VR games are garbage as of now, but I have a bit of hope for it in the future as long as the tech makes the experience not as painful as it is now.

Even if ultra settings ends up being bogus, I can still use the extra horsepower to supersample or run 1080p in 120fps. I'm actually really hoping to test this since this is the first time I got a TV that has a native 120hz panel. As for VR, I'm pretty curious about the tech. Like I said, I think it has future, even if for now the games are complete garbage. Besides, if all else fails, there is always VR porn.

I know, I have been using a 780ti since it was released, and as it got older I saw the bump in framerate certain settings would give me. But still, I didn't want to migrate to a mid range card.

That is the problem with AMD. They lack punch right now. I wanted to make a new system, entirely red this time. I'm intrigued by their threadripper, it seems like a good value for the money, but there simply is no high end AMD GPU on the shelves. I don't know what they are thinking, it's like they abandoned the segment. At any rate, I'll keep an eye on their next line up. If they manage to release something that competes with the nvidia top tier cards, then I'll gladly switch over. I'm not nvidia's bitch by choice.

I understand the PS4 Pro is not a very good upgrade and I would not recommend it for anyone (I only bought it because, like I said, I had the opportunity to sell my old PS4 to a coworker for more than I paid, and I saw a PS4 Pro on Black Friday with a very good price, plus the guy gave me a Digimon game as a bonus that I was going to buy anyway. Anyway, I like some of the PS4 exclusives, even if there aren't many of those, so I bought one.

If I got that right, both machines have LAN jacks. This means you could theoretically do it with a spare LAN cable and a cheapo monitor if you think you have to watch both machines at once.

I solved the problem doing what I didn't want to do in the first place. I used a USB external drive, but I had to wipe it first, and it had my porn collection in it. A pity. I could never get both to communicate. Thanks, though.
