ITT: Rad shit in the early parts of games that only make sense on a replay
>Played Metro 2033 back in the day and loved it, read the novel and adored the supernatural shit.
>Picked up Metro Redux on PS4 for a pittance in a halloween sale last year but never got around to it
>PC patching a bunch of shit all night so fancy some single player offline vidya and decide to load it up
>First mission has you riding a train, intending to head to Polis Station. Riding little pump piston powered 4 man trolley with no roof or anything
>Get stopped after a minute or two by station border guard, the Alexcycovitch line has had a minor collapse and its closed so you have to take 'the back road'
>Comments from travellers how its a 'bad line'
>Line entrace tunnel is sealed with a two foot thick, piston controlled airtight seal
>Head down tunnel, biophosperecent fungi and fog give it a spooky atmosphere
>Meant to sit and enjoy the set piece and watch the guys on your trolley all start to pass out
>Done this go around before so ignore them and drink in the scenery
>"Hey its dark, i'll turn on my flashlight"
>Instantly see shadows standing on either side of the track of people in visible distress and turmoil
>Nobody else can see them
>Only there if you use your torch which you dont need to if you watch the set piece lit by a lantern
>If you played the game and read the books you know what this shit is
>The devs added them only for people ignoring the story, most likely on replays to notice the haunted lines were there right outside Artyoms station.
I fucking LOVE this shit. Additional props to Nier where on replay of the game you notice none of the small shades in the first dungeon are attacking you at all and now you know why.
