Players in Destiny 2 just recently discovered that the game gimps your exp gains at max level while displaying fake exp numbers. After max level, your "level ups" gave you a lootbox instead, the system was so aggressive that by the end of a mission your exp could literally only actually be 5% of what the game is telling you you're getting, all so you'd be more likely to buy lootboxes.

After it was found out, it took Actiblizz like 4 hours to go full damage control and say the exp system wasn't working as intended.

EA is pretty fucked since nearly 50% of their revenue is made through lootboxes (half of that through Fifa alone). Consider they have almost no IPs or developers left to use, and it's not likely many will be willing to cooperate with EA, and those who do are unlikely to make a good product.
