Where to begin…
I guess we'll start with the shit SGA's and Managers put up with.
>you have an hour to count every system in your store, write them down, and then type them out and send them off. If you're a larger store like ours was you have a shit ton in various areas in the small cramped space you have in the back.
>in that hour you will most likely have to resticker the games on the wall, there were days where it would print out 300+ stickers
>you also need to count the money in the safe and divide it between two drawers
>if you miss these it's a firable offense
>also, you were more than likely dealing with the work from yesterday, epecially during the holidays. I used to have a picture of the store once where there were just stickers, consoles and games everywhere behind the desk that had yet to be stickered and boxed due to how busy and understaffed we were, and that was due to the horrible payroll we received. If you worked into overtime you got fired.
>there are to many firable offenses to count. At one point I felt like Peter working for J. Jonah as I got used to recieving texts and calls telling me I was fired every other day.
>don't forget the ESRB agents and your own DM trying to trick the store and fire you or your staff
>all this for 12 dollars an hour and only being allowed to work 5 hours a day for 3 days
About the best I can say are the customers were pleasant, but like anywhere they could also be horrid assholes at times. One threatened to drag me outside due to his xbox red ringing infront of his kids.
I guess story wise I'll give you one that was some bullshit
>DM comes to store and realizes we aren't selling any Wii U's during Christmas time
>"I have an idea, let's make a display right by the door and put real Wii U consoles on it!"
>tell him that's a horrible idea and we will get blamed when they get stolen
>that day comes quick as during a horribly busy day there is a crowd of people blocking view of that table and me and my GA can barely keep up with the hoard
>look over
>notice the consoles are gone
>call DM
>"you weren't watching them!? You might lose your job for this!!"
>almost do
>cops get called
>DM shoving the blame on me when he calls his superiors
if somebody finds this shit interesting perhaps I'll share the time we got a pregnant woman manager who refused to go on maternity leave.

That's basically what GA's do, though it sounds like you weren't gutting, labeling, boxing, or helping change out he promotional stuff. Women are mostly there as eye candy for preorders so the managers can get the DM's off their back. Hopefully your brother didn't hire you there for that and was more interested in your work ethic… if not your were basically pimped out by your own flesh and blood to sell vidya.
