Macro issues involve individuals but on different aspects to personal ones. Everything you're trying to run on about is dismantled when you realize that humanity wasn't formed around the US culture. If we don't have a nation we have groups that we can easily rely on. If our nation doesn't function, those groups usually do. How people perceive the importance of a nation will have differing effects. If I don't give a shit about national solidarity and I have a group of people who think the same then it obviously doesn't effect me does it?
