I've always hated that aspect of Blizzard's art style. It's all the ugly bits of 40k with none of the originality. The armour's always look fucking stupid, the proportions are always retarded. Even in WC3 after they made the leap to 3D they didn't even try to keep the buildings in proportion to the people. I understand that's a bit of a nitpick, but this is alongside towns and caves and areas where everybody *is* in proportion with their surroundings. It just looks stupid. What made Warhammer Fantasy stand out was the sort of humor that was put into the writing. For example, take this bit from the 7th edition Ogre armybook:

Minor historical characters, events, and locations were references to real world history and geography, which could also be good for a laugh if you're into that sort of thing.
Contrast with Warcraft that isn't original either and has lost any of the charm it may have once possessed.
