This is quite a surprise! When was the last time you dusted off some vidya you hadn't played in ages?
Do you wanna run a casino tonight, /v/?

Nice digits, but I don't think I can help you there. This is a rated E game, after all, and I don't think Sierra would've put in hookers and blow for the authentic casino experience.
Fun idea, though.

Well that takes me back.
Last game I dusted off from CD and still works was Fallout 2. A couple of months ago.

My last graphics card I bought was in May 2016, and it's pretty much just died. That's not a very long time, is it? I could've sworn my last one lasted about 3-5 years.

I gotta say, one of the things I really don't miss about old games is needing a CD to play them, and this game is so obscure that there aren't any mods for it in any way. Inconvenient, although I assume a pirated copy wouldn't have this problem.

I don't mind optical media as a storage, obviously not for playing from directly. Sheeit I actually had a couple of old sierra\Dynamix games that came in 3.5 floppies that I wished had a CD version instead due to convenience and longevity of a CD vs floppies.
I play some current era AA titles but I'm ok in my vidya fort made from titles that predates shitty DLC microtransactions always online DRM and other current year AIDS.

Dusted off original Homeworld CD. Can't find original jewel case so no cd-key, but figure it's old and has been cracked. Doesn't matter anyway because disc too old/scratched to be read.

The feels are intense, I feel like I shouldn't got back and ruin the memories.

I know we all keep saying this too often, but god damn, where does the time go? I know I spend most of my time playing vidya, but I didn't expect time to fly like that.
As for old vidya - I've never kept any copies of my old shit. Never really had a lot of original copies, I only bought maybe a dozen PC games in my life (steam renting notwithstanding). I guess the closest I've had to this experience was when I found a copy of Battlefield 2 at a junkyard and it worked fine. Discovered Revive network the next day I hope it gets back online

I don't know much about Optimization but it's on the MT framework engine, so if it's anything like DMC4's original PC release it should run great.
>>13714273
If it's your first time playing DR1 I don't know what you will think, It's very much a game that get's better the more you play it. At first you start off level 1 and shitty but by the end you when your level 50 and memorize the in's and outs of the mall in it's entity you feel like a Bad Ass.
I enjoyed the hell out of replaying it on PC but I already had a ton of prior experience playing the game when it first came out.

Cool. Is the re-release the same game or do I need to look for the original to be toaster-friendly?

I dunno if what >>13714333 is saying is correct or not, but I picked up DR1 for PC some months back and it ran like dogshit for no reason, even on medium settings. Might be optimization or something, but I returned it since it didn't run well. If you pick it up, lemme know how it runs, since I am interested in picking it up again.

well if were talking about DR1 then there is only the one PC version.
DMC4 has it's original version, which is known as a godly PC port since it was work on in house at Capcom, and there is also DMC4 Special Edition which was out sourced and it uses an updated MT Framework engine and isn't nearly as well done.
>>13714365
If it ran like dog shit the first time then I doubt it will be better now, Capcom hasn't patched/update DMC4SE a single time it's exactly the same know as it was at launch.
The hole reason I spent the dosh on a good graphic card was so I didn't have to worry about bad optimization.
