So this piece of shit just bit the dust. How many more failed hero shooters do we need before the industry gets the fucking hint?

>never played dota or it's clones

>never played overwatch or any of it's clones

Why are these games everywhere now? What's the catch?

The "hero shooter" meme is propped up by Blizzard and their gook fanbase.

Check their demographics and you'll see its 70%+ chinese or koreans.

>>13692467

These games are dogshit, and retards just buy overwatch because its blizzard, and blizzard makes a fuck ton of money selling random loot boxes to retards with way to much money. The rest of these companies just wanted a piece of the pie but they don't have the blizzard name so nobody bought their dogshit.

Awesome, now they'll probably shelve most of the assets into Warframe with ridiculous microtransactions and grind

>Gaming today: shit games that you buy and play to be cool

I've seen normalfags used assfaggots as conversation starters bragging about their wins

e899c9 No.13692550

>>13692467

It's essentially a Truman Show gambit. Not a single one of these games are as popular as they actually appear and they spend untold amounts of funny money making dipshits with more money than sense believe otherwise. You could easily argue that no game was every a good investment or even an investment at all but they seriously took it to a whole new level: this is a race to see who can blow the most cash on a glorified bottle rocket of a franchise and who can dupe as many people as possible that the game will still be around in a month.

I guarantee you over half the porn you see of Overwatch is done by Blizzard staff working with an alias.

33bf5a No.13692563

>>13692467

>Why are these games everywhere now?

Publishers smelling money.

>What's the catch?

The success of a "hero shooter" is based on characters, art and cosmetics, not actual gameplay. People play Overwatch because it's easy, accessible, popular, the art is supremely palatable and inoffensive and - most importantly - because there's a metric ton of sex appeal that's acceptable to the hyper-progressive gaming community. Blizzard would never in a million years admit it, but the waifubait is the lion's share of the franchise's success and that was EXACTLY what they were aiming for.

Anon the industry will never stop making skinner boxes until the governments of this world make the poaching of human wales illegal.

I've never even heard of this game.

>DE

Now I know why.

https://forums.amazingeternals.com/topic/4039-the-amazing-eternals-development/

>Hello Fellow Eternals,

>After many discussions internally on the state of The Amazing Eternals, we have decided to hit the pause button on development at this time. This decision didn’t come lightly. We worked hard to make a game that we are proud to say was shaping up to have great potential. However, we took an honest look at the current gaming landscape and how the game was performing in Closed Beta. Unfortunately, the game wasn’t attracting players fast enough to support a viable matchmaking player base with the current game design direction, which is the lifeblood of this type of game. So, with heavy hearts, we’re taking a step back to reevaluate the design and may revisit our intrepid heroes in the future.

>For those players who believed in what we were making and invested their hard-earned cash into the Founders Program, we are humbled by and grateful for your dedication and support. Refunds will be issued over a 72-hour period beginning today, October 26, 2017 and may take up to 3 to 5 business days to process. During this period, the game servers will remain live until 11:59pm ET, November 2, 2017.

>The official forums and Discord will remain live indefinitely for players who want to stay in contact with each other, and the entire development team will remain with Digital Extremes and transition to Warframe development, so if you’re a Warframe player, you may still see us around.

>This was a hard decision to make, and we can’t thank you enough for your incredible support throughout development. The Amazing Eternals will live on through all of you who were there to make it happen.

>We do not have any additional plans to discuss at this time, but feel free to post any questions or concerns here, and we’ll try to answer them.

I think it was a smart move to shelve it early. DE got lucky other people got to try their luck at the hero shooter genre and fail miserably before they sank more money into it.

Same as WOW

>oh shit this game sold like hot cakes!
