Depends. I got half-way through Ataraxia before I became bored and dropped it. There was also another sci-fi one dealing with perspectives and shit and I gave up after an hour. Forgot the name but the kid was climbing a tower, looking at a watch and it just didn't engage me.
Grsaia was a bit rough in the beginning with Yumiko actually attacking Yuuji and playing it off as comedy, took awhile through the combined path but you get to know the characters. Majikoi is abit more relaxed with introducing it's characters.

I'm more or less a VN virgin – I've only played three, and one was still in development. I'd like to get into them more, and I've decided to do so by playing through VN's I know of with anime adaptations. That's why I've downloaded Higurashi When They Cry and Steins;Gate (I'm also looking for a good download for Yosuga no Sora if someone could provide one).
Anyway, I am not particularly adept at VN's and completion and story is more important to me that the puzzle – I derive no enjoyment out of the 'figure it out' element of VN's. For that reason, I was wondering if anyone could direct me to any good Walkthroughs or Flowcharts for Higurashi When They Cry and Steins;Gate? I'm looking for 100% completion, not just one successful navigation through the game.
Don't get me wrong, I'm going to try to play through them without the guide at least once, but I'm just not the kind of person who wants to spend hours searching through every little route and setting off every little flag a hundred times. How do you guys feel about Walkthroughs? You have any good ones for the games I have right now?

I don't know if I prefer them, per se. A VN with a bunch of different routes and choices is just as good as a kinetic novel as long as I have a guide for 100% completion. Gotta tell you, my favorite route on Katawa Shoujo was Shizune's and my least favorite was Rin's. I attribute this greatly to Shizune's being a fairly straightforward route whereas Rin's was a maze of autism.

Not really. The writing haphazard and tends towards infodumps and long pseudo-philospohical monologues, the pacing is painfully slow with the main plot barely getting any attention until past the halfway point (at one point it spends about 8 hours on an arc about a government coup that has nothing to do with the plot and is just an excuse to spout more poorly written philosophical nonsense), the MC is insufferable and doesn't undergo and development to become less insufferable.
The VN baits you into reading it by masqueraduing as a military science fiction story about alien invasion and parallel universes, but it's mostly just melodrama and people crying about their feelings.
