>Well, the ending is here.

Glad that citrus has ended, it should have ended many years ago. The ammount of cheap drama and teen angst is ridiculous.

>What do you think?

citrus is a blatant pleb plagiarism of the cream of patrician absolute kinography and Nakamura Ching's maximum opus Gunjou .

Not an opinion, just pointing the obvious.

OP's pic is simply an uninspired attempt of tracing of this post's superb pic. Cannot blame Saburota for trying to follow Nakamura Ching's steps, but Saburota, Namori and many others can't even compete with Ching's aesthetic genius.

>Do you like it?

That said, Gunjou is clearly better.

>Be it seeing Mei finally demanding something she wants, having her show affection towards Yuzu that is not forced, or seeing Yuzu actually putting some thought into things and planning before just charging in unprepared, it’s all part of what made the ride so enjoyable. All the frustration that this manga gave us aside, being able to witness someone like Mei, who had been denying and refusing all her needs and desires, finally opening up and showing exactly what she wants---that’s just huge! I know that a lot of these scenes were then ruined by a totally overwhelmed Yuzu that had such a hard time understanding a Mei that was finally showing affection, but isn’t that just precious and endearing?

>Speaking of which, in a series running this long, it’s not always the big developments but rather the small things that make the difference between a good and a great story, and dear God did Saburouta do a great job with this. Be it a Yuzu magically enchanted by a sleeping Mei that gets angry in her dreams, or a Yuzu who enters hentai-mode just from finding her lover’s clothes laying around, it’s all so endearing and helps getting through parts of the story that you might as well not like. For me, that would have been the election arc, for example.

>Furthermore, Citrus might be perceived as this kind of ecchi and fanservice-y series, and while I did indeed enjoy their kisses and make-out scenes a lot, the story had a lot more to offer. The scene you see up there with Mei consoling a confused and frightened Yuzu was probably one of the best moments of the whole series. Not only did the roles switch for once, but without giving Yuzu false hope about their surroundings, Mei’s words were honest, encouraging, and exactly what Yuzu needed at that moment. There are a lot of moments like this spread throughout the whole manga, and I can’t help but enjoy these parts a lot more than any hot make-out scene Saburouta might throw at us.

>Speaking of which, did they end up having sex? Nope… The story teased us about this happening in quite a few parts, and to be quite honest, I was hoping for it to happen A LOT. But in old Citrus fashion, we were only teased, and nothing happened in this department. What a letdown! And while we’re already talking about all the things we didn’t like, I will continue with how poor best girl Harumin was treated! For the love of God, I was conflicted! Seeing what a great friend she is and how she might have feelings for Yuzu as well, part of me actually hoped for them getting together, too. Of course, there’s no way of that happening. but I was at least hoping that she would end up with someone (who’s not freaking Matsuri).

>Now seeing that by October we’ll get more Citrus goodness in form of spin-offs, I have my hopes high to see Harumin happy with someone. I actually hope for Sara, to be honest, even though they hardly interacted with each other at all. They both need to be happy, though!

>Since the ending chapters with the “forced” marriage (and especially the events after Yuzu managed to get Mei out of it) felt quite rushed, what I’m hoping for the most is also some lovey dovey chapters with Mei and Yuzu simply going on dates, making out a lot, and enjoying life together as a free couple that is out to their parents and friends. Oh yeah, and then a sex chapter please. Or maybe numerous chapters…

I originally started reading this back when it first came out because of how good the art was, but it quickly devolves into plotless, pointless drivel with barely any well established character personalities and development, the plot twists and drama come completely left field and serve to pile more clutter in this convoluted mess of a story.

Mei is by far the most boring character I have ever seen become a love interest, Yuzu's pretty insufferable as well, and nothing made sense at all, even the side characters seem to exist for Yuzu and Mei's convenience, they had no personal motivations or stories, everything they did revolved around these two, it feels like a bad fanfiction come to life honestly.

The Citrus manga will have a Spinoff in winter

The October issue of Comic magazine Yuri Hime from Ichijinsha revealed on Saturday that Saburouta will release the sleeve derived from Citrus Plus in the magazine this winter. The main Citrus manga of Saburouta ended on the same theme.

>You know, I actually expect the spin-off to be more enjoyable than the main manga. Now that all the drama and shit is over, there's no way that saburouta will be adding new characters for plot. It's hopefully just going to be plotless yuri hijinks with good art and some nice kissing scenes. Those were the best parts of citrus anyway and I don't think saburouta can fail to succeed if she sticks to that area.

It will be the same, try to read one of the previous works of the author and it is practically the same thing, only that in the previous work Mei was a man.

<since they did not answer me in /a/ or in /animu/ I will try here

In my opinion Yuzu was a time bomb (a mine to be more precise)

> adolescent at puberty

> without boyfriend

> without friends

> his only private place was snatched

What Mei did when she kissed her by force was like stepping on a landmine, Yuzu just needed an impulse to fall into madness and Mei was the one who gave her that impulse, after that Mei could no longer get rid of her to the point of be with her most of the time.

That's why the first time they were going to have sex Yuzu can not continue because both what she feels and what Mei feel are not the same, neither is love and nor is lust, it is pure desperation mixed in a totally unusual situation.

Yuzu at her age should have had her first sexual experience with a man and Mei being more cautious should not have (unless at the moment) a premature sexual experience.

But everything went away by submerging both in a dilemma that can easily be solved with experience. But apparently no adult was around to advise them.

That's kind of a reoccuring theme isn't it with Citrus and NTR, if they went to a parent or a parent at least noticed what they were doing, you wouldn't have 5 volumes where they wallow around in angst.

>you wouldn't have 5 volumes where they wallow around in angst.

The only one who was distressed all the time was Yuzu.
