The fonts were mainly chosen to get to the closest feel the original font gave, so all the fonts used each have different roles to distinguish between normal text and sound effect text as well as special text used for different expressions, as you can see by the variety of fonts used for those. Of course, another normal-looking font could be used for normal text, but if you are saying to use more "funny-looking" text for even just plain normal text, then that'd sorta erase the difference between normal and not-normal text, as each one is supposed to have a different role to give a different feel.
That being said, even within the realm of normal-looking fonts, there are of course several options, so those will be looked into.

I hate to say this but no one is even trying to compete with Dynasty atm in terms of having a site that looks good, is 100% yuri focused, ez to use, and has a proper e-reader. Fancomics for example suffers from having to scroll instread of just having each page auto centered for you for ez readability - makes it a chore to read and will likely hurt it's popularity long term. Our smuglo.li reader is outdated and missing vital functions and it's not even managed by us but /a/ - also has some weird errors. This is why Dynasty has a monopoly in the yuri community. No one else even attempts to compete with them or tries to make something on par with the system they have.
I'm wondering if what we need is a real proper e-reader complete with ratings, reviews, threads for each manga/doujin similar to Dynasty and a good interface that makes you want to actually use the site. I think then you'd see a shift away from Dynasty.
Sorry to the fancomics guy but I do think you would be better off with a proper manga e-reader over the ao3 rip you got now - would definitely be more popular with the manga crowd. You got a lot of the functionality but missing the core stuff that makes reading a manga online quick and enjoyable.
