My personal website has captcha, doesn't work properly without javascript, and uses Cloudflare. So what?
Captcha stops spambots from using my contact form. JS is useful for a lot of things. And Cloudflare's caching speeds things up considerably, even on cheap shared hosting.

open source shopping software - installed on PC would allow you to buy items from any online shop
open source forum software - installed on PC, would allow you to browse and post on forums like 8ch

Mobile apps already kind of do that. Unfortunately you're just going to end up with proprietary spyware. At least browsers can somewhat sandbox the website and don't track you as much as an installed program. (Not like it matters much when normalfags willingly enter all their personal information publicly.)
▶ No.987080

yeah so mobile apps only support their own product or service or whatever they're selling, with some shit proprietary protocol. also most mobile "apps" are just web pages emdedded in a browser. so it's like a normal web browser but worse because you can't do anything
a program embedded in a website has worse security/privacy/attack surface than you'd get with a properly isolated program (which android's shit security model is not)

someone linked to them but the post as deleted (and lol they left the link to a clearnet CP chan up). they're just your standard PHP forums, like PHPBB. unlike normalfag forums:
-you aren't IP blocked
-there's no pointless email address requirement to sign up
-your session is stored in the URL so you don't need cookies. you also don't need JS or referrer headers
-even when your session expires and you have to login to follow a link from a tab you had open for a day, you can fill in the login info and it will redirect you to the proper place. 99.999999999999999999999999% of normalfag websites fuck this up or only can do this with JS on or some other absurd shit

I'll suggest my own website, I suppose:
http://verisimilitudes.net
The only monitoring I do is reading the server logs occasionally. I hate when I see a static page that has Google Analytics hidden in it; you won't find a single <script> tag anywhere in my website.
Cloudflare is another of those big threats, but worse because you can't avoid it when using the website or necessarily even know. I don't use that either.
As for encryption, I don't support mandatory encryption. You should ideally always be able to access a website, even if you need to do it "insecurely" because you don't have up-to-date keys, algorithms, or anything else, such as just wanting a simpler program. It shouldn't blow up just because a certificate wasn't updated and is now out of date.
Anyway, feel free to tell me what you think. I just released a new article yesterday.

Would be nice to have HTTPS even if optional. Encrypt everything!
Having newer content at the top of a feed is more convenient IMO
The rest is good. Nice and clean with a splash of color for hyperlinks. A well chosen color, I might add.
I particularly like the jokes about UDP, Christian god and minimalism.

I agree that optional encryption is good, but I haven't set it up yet.
>Having newer content at the top of a feed is more convenient IMO
I edit the index.html file from the bottom. By now, I like it this way and I also enjoy subverting expectations.
>The rest is good. Nice and clean with a splash of color for hyperlinks. A well chosen color, I might add.

Good philosophy. But the option of encrypting should still be there.
And I agree with >>1038598 on the new content at the top. Since people read from top to bottom and browsers start at the top. I don't wanna press "end" just to see new content. Though I guess it doesn't matter that much in the end.

not all the sites but most of them. I add links to wiby almost daily, I've added dozens by now. Usually it's academic pages. I don't add pages that are stupid and worthless though. a lot of people (autists and linux trannies) make pages that at first glance seem good, but the content is just them complaining about how the internet is and how their site is how it should be. sure, they're right, but I don't need to read about it for the thousandth time. I come across these type of pages often but don't add them.
on the other hand, I come across plenty of academic websites and software sites and stuff like that that are actually useful as websites without being crappy, so I add those. I want to be able to use wiby as an actual search engine, unfortunately for me when I add things I already know about them so there is no point using wiby to search for them.
basically most sites fit those guidelines for the most part, and I encourage you to help by adding sites to the index but like I said try to add sites that bring useful content to the table.

I later learn you need a license to be a ham radio operator, I didn't even know that. I figured a call sign was like an optional thing.. I had purchased the modem, a 50 foot ethernet cable and even ethernet power supply plugs.. Only to be forced to scrap the project over a license. I wasn't even aware it was a crime to do that sort of thing either. Simply tested it to see if it would work. Of course it didn't since the modem has those tiny antennas that can't reach anything. Dude, you have to go through a class just to get a license I wouldn't even be using for radio, but rather, basically a wifi network.. Just no. Threw it all in the trash. Feel pretty stupid tbh.

Yeah, that. It sounds like a shitty anti-freedom thing to include in linux. Shame on fsf.

No it's pro freedom for the user. The Tivozation clause means that the user has the key to access the device. What is anti freedom is to have a device with the ability to update the firmware, but it requires a key that isn't given to the owner of the device.

You know what, I'm not even an expert in technology. I just skimmed the wikipedia page on "tivoization" and concluded it wasn't a very nice thing to put on a device.
