Most of us hate the CoC, and everything it represents.
Modern OS are incredibly complex; they work on proprietary hardware that is made to be backward-compatible with hardware from the 80's.
Most of us are familiar with FLOSS. But there is a dying need for Libre hardware Hopefully this can serve as a list of things to implement, a list some of us can pick up and start working on.
So let's start. A good enough OS would run on open source hardware (Intel and AMD can't be trusted), would be simple enough for one to audit and maintain it mostly alone (what good is to have something open source but unauditable by a few people), and would of course allow one to do the basics: running productivity software (libreoffice...), programming, web browsing (because why use a computer otherwise ?)... its development would be based on merit, and merit only. No politics. Keep it true to what open source and the hacking culture is.
What would you want in such a system ? Most importantly, why ?
