I was going to post in the general, but then I realized that this wasn't 4/g/, so I'll make this thread instead. Does anyone have experience with Surf? I want to use it, but, like most browsers, it lacks a lot of necessary functionality--namely it has no content blocker like µMatrix. advertisements and basic domain blocking itself isn't a problem, because you can obviously block domains by means of a firewall or hosts file rather easily, and it's more efficient that way, anyhow. But what about selectively blocking protocols like js or xml on a per-domain basis? I use Tor for browsing clearnet, but I don't want to congest the network when I'm downloading media files via wget or youtube-dl, nor do I use Tor on sites that refuse ip's of known Tor nodes like irc.rizon.net or banking sites or basically anything with Cloudflare, so it's not something I enforce globally?

Anyway, those are a few of my concerns. I'm not even going to worry about privacy and fingerprinting, because my ua is going to immediately single me out, and we all know that spoofing your ua as well as other stuff like screen resolution just doesn't work, especially with js enabled. Beyond that, does anyone use plugins for Surf? Do you have your own forks or use that of other people?

If you want a graphical browser that just works with pretty much every website and can be controlled without the mouse, go for Firefox ESR with Vimfx. After weeks of trying random browsers, from old and minimal ones to new, shiny, big plastic tits ones, I can guarantee with 100% certainty that it is the only way.

The only minimal web browser that I've used for a long time is w3m. Secure, minimal, works (as much as it can as it is console-based) and VIM-like. The only reason I don't use it is because of an w3mimg (an application that allows you to display images in the console) bug in Gentoo that I've been too lazy to fix. I'll probably go back to using w3m in the future. It works perfectly under simpler operating systems such as Void Linux. It is also available under (((FreeBSD))), but I don't know how well it works since I hadn't touched the operating system in a while.
