I think that concludes things, there is no reason to switch from using Emacs. I recently looked at what Sublime Text offers for VHDL, out of the box it just has a syntax file for what I can assume is VHDL 93. There was a free plugin someone had scraped together, but the best one is $260 USD (but with an indefinite free trial). Sublime it seems cannot even support remote editing out of the box, for that I need a paid plugin for $30 (again, indefinite trial). Supposing I'm a good guy and pay for all of this, with the $80 it is for ST3, that's $370 all together just for features that Emacs provides me free of charge! Not to mention 'freedom'.
