>Toaster desktop. OpenWRT
2006 single core toaster, it's my router now. 1GB of RAM, 40GBs of storage, no GPU, 3 random network cards. Plugged into a proper router for wi-fi. Heatsink is secured by rope, the fan's bearings are gone but it keeps spinning and making jet engine noises (thank fuck it has its own room). I get the need to save up money and power by having high quality embedded operating systems on extremely low end hardware that can do the job just fine, but the average router having 32MBs of ram and some shitty MIPS processor is far too much. This toaster is better than any router, and its hardware is proven reliable because it saw use 5 days a week in a school for 5 years and it has been turned on 24/7 as my router ever since then.
>Nintendo Wii. Debian
Fucktoy running Debian. I actually have no idea what to do with it when the router is easily expansible, so any suggestions are appreciated.
>2010 LG laptop with decent specs. Core i7 730 and a gtx 330m, 8GBs of RAM and a battery with 9% of its original capacity
Currently just running Ubuntu MATE. I installed it just so it has something, I want to run some kind of media center distro with a UI that supports a game controller but it seems like they're all shit right now. I just want to have a controller-based interface + MPV for playing video + RetroArch for gaymen. I still have the wii's controllers and although they're actually really shitty input devices for a multitude of reasons it would be nice to be able to use them to drive the computer.
The laptop is unusable on the go, it has some damages. The cable of the power supply tore apart and it's held in place with electrical tape, the screen's hinge is broken in one side, one of the USB ports is dead, the original hard drive died long ago.
Currently I can only awkwardly control it with a wireless keyboard and awkwardly hold the keyboard while I use the wii's controllers.

<128GB 2666MHz DDR4 ECC memory

I wanted lots of cores because I play a lot of music in the background.
Mainly I use my iMac for:

>Tweeting my day
>Organizing my iCloud photos
Just fun stuff really. It feels very fast, I really like it.

I'm in a 3rd world shithole a heatsink + fan combo costs about 10 days worth of food. And I'd rather have 10 days worth of food.
>which features are you using?
I have tcp_bbr enabled
The network cards on it are all really old 10 to 100MB/s cards and their charm is how they don't have obligatory 256 packets of buffering like some modern network cards, which means I don't have built in bufferbloat. I have AQM enabled.
It has a SSH server which I can connect to and turn on my computer via wake on lan, and then SSH into my computer. I have used it in the past to connect home via my android phone and copypaste files I needed.
I'm using OpenWRT's quality QOS so I don't have to worry about pausing torrents to watch video or play an online game.
I have some smaller torrents on the router itself running 24/7 to get me some seed ratio on private trackers, one day I'm going to buy a hard drive to install on the router and move all my torrenting there. Can't do that with the PC because it's in my room and it would heat the room up and make noise at night, and the torrents don't get interrupted nearly as often as they would on the PC.
I have a PXE server running on it with a 32 bit sysrescuecd iso, any computer that tries to network boot in my house will boot into puppy linux. It's pretty good for recovery and I can of course download a different iso for installing as it supports multiboot.
Overall it's the most pleasant router I've ever had and although the setup took a week over time it has given me much less trouble and a better experience than a router with a vendor OS. You never realize how much of your networking trouble is the fault of your router until you have a good one, I recommend anyone with spare network cards and a spare computer to install OpenWRT. At the very least you'll have more processing power to work with, and the average MIPS processor doesn't have nearly enough.

I currently own three traditional computers.
I have a Thinkpad with Linux Mint for email, shopping, pictures, and writing exercises. A desktop that I built myself for gaming with Windows 10. And I got some multiport graphics computer with Windows 7 that I'm trying to decide what to do with. Plus I have several broken laptops at different levels of repairs needed.
I mostly game, browse the Internet, manage pictures, and write. I prefer Linux for everything besides gaming.

One laptop overheats and was a shitty HP laptop with a broken hinge. It was previously owned by a very messy person but I'm thinking about getting the motherboard out and turning it into a properly cooled desktop.
Another laptop actually just needs a new harddrive and it's an IBM Thinkpad. And then there's an Acer that I've helped a family member with, replacing the screen when it got fucked by a power surge, but last time I was using it on Linux I got a white screen and that poor thing always suffered from heating issues, and then I have some old Dell laptop that just up and died on my brother and then someone gave him a Latitude and that has been steady since. I should sell most of them really, but I love recycling shit.

If you can fix them and use them, go for it. If there are some you can't use, then I would take all the working parts you know out of them (like the HDD, RAM, maybe even CPU, but not stuff like the screen or kb) and sell them to someone who can refurbish them.
It sounds like most of them however that you can repair and use though.
