You made a site of your own volition under your ownership to bolster your own interests, and you expect other people to sacrifice their right to control the code that's executed on their own computers because you don't want to pay for your own site?

Spam it on every imageboard you could find, even dead ones. It's how most of them acquired audience in last year to be honest.

you have to find people interested in the topic and recruit them one by one, until the forum becomes one of the core community of the niche and then it self-sustains.

That's how I did it in 2004. Of course you should also have some expertise and interesting threads and content to start.

dont be an autist and actually network. eg find websites/forums similar to yours in some way. message/email the top people of said communities. they may be willing to post your website in their signatures of their accounts or maybe make an article about your site? along with contributing to your site as well.
