I wanted to decrypt the files myself, but it seems its using a different KDF than rfc2898? Also the mode of encryption was never stated so I've tried to guess that too. Anyone able to decrypt the files themselves? I am using openssl. Tried aes-256-cbc and aes-256-ecb.

I'vetTried using the passwords directly as a key, and tried multiple KDF functions to get the raw key and the IV. Also the salt is weird, being 9 bytes, but it seems rfc2898 allows for that.

Anyone have any luck with it?

Is in fact not a "reddit spacing", but a way to cope with default chan's css. Problem is that spaces between lines are not as clear as they sould be, there is no way to typographically separate paragraphs, thus walls of text become unreadable because of that. See, there is no way to tell if it's a new paragraph or just a next sentence placed on new line because of your window width.

Spaces between paragraphs at least deal with this problem half-assed way. And most people accustom to using them without even being familiar with reddit's posting mechanisms (me included).
