Are you serious, to say such a statement?
Do you know how much websites lives on the ads provided by google? Use google analytics? Try hard to be on the top of google results?
Don't you know that tech giants are the one investing in opensource/freesoftware, and so have a huge influence upon the direction the developement these libs are heading on?
Maybe google don't "control" directly everything, but at least, it knows everything.
The control and the philosophy behind internet and computers in written inside the source code of the protocols. Who writes them? Who fund them?
That's the question. Red Hat, for exemple, whose biggest customer is the DoD, is the one investing the most in linux opensource/freesoftware. Poettering is working for Red Hat.
Internet have been meant to be a tool of control since it's beginning, because it never was meant to host real information. Internet always have been public.
Now, about who is controlling the internet, it's pretty obvious, that it's from one part the developers, easely controlable by putting your own dev in the dev team, or funding them directly, and on the other part the network, who are forced to handle everything to the US government, if it's not a company controlled by the CIA in the first place.
Pretty important to say, since google was actually funded by In-Q-tel, and so belong historically to the CIA.
