>Laurelai's most infamous incident happened in January of 2015, when she and Dan Olson conspired to try to get 8chan taken down. The plan called for Laurelai to set up a honeypot IRC channel corresponding with the launch of an alleged child pornography board (/hebe/) on 8chan. Laurelai would "plant" said content in the hope of luring in actual pedophiles to the channel and board, which would allow Olson to, via archive postings and screencaps, make the argument that 8chan was home to Child Pornography and had to be shut down as a result.
<I always wondered why the fuzz wasn't interested in either of them at the time despite people bringing up they had access to pizza.
>these people are willing to find and disseminate child porn in the hope that they might get someone they disagree with in trouble, and they all have huge important jobs in hollywood.
<In Laurelai's case no such thing needed to be done due to horrible horrible opsec on Wes' part…personally I'm not going to dwell on it too much but it is odd that:
<A) CBS basically owns Bethesda/Zenimax
<B) Laurelai's public profile has gone up in recent years inexplicably even with a lolcow rap sheet longer than the source code for Windows 10, to the point where there's acknowledged work with traditional media
<C) Imageboards have been targeted in the recent past by the same interests in traditional media, with boards conversely frustrating their efforts here and there (from Gawker to Paid Mods v1.0)
<D) There's been a push for the last 20 years to merge Hollywood and the gaming industry, and more recently pro sports with gaming
