Step 1, if you're running Windows, check to see if its not any scheduled programs running(you're fucked if you are running windows

If running GNU/Linux, try to see what cron jobs are running, and monitor all your processes, have a cronjob that sees whats running and pipes it to a file

Step 2, try disconnecting your pc from the internet to be sure its not just something running an updater

Step 3, reformat your PC to be absolutely sure its software only

Step 4, if it turns out to still be happening, make sure oyu arent repeating your same software steps as you had, leave a base gentoo install running with xfce to be absolutely sure

Step 5 is really to get rid of the PC if you believe it is hardware

i really don't know but based on my limited knowledge they probably have plenty of their own backdoors and can do whatever you want on your machine without you knowing

this is one of the biggest reasons i hate mobile technology

No problem, I saw your post on /pol/ as well, but I decided to reply here.

>>1064058 this advice is pretty smart if you're not doing anything that requires a modern operating system or tools. For example, if can write up your papers at home without any thing connected to the internet and just format and print it at the library, you should be good. I have a spare pre-intel core computer with removable power supply and used sparc computer that I got for cheap from a sale. I don't use them regularly, but if I need to do something with them, I sure will.
