You say that as if it's not going to be the universal standard in the very near future. Everyone has always known Pinterest is for women and therefore cucked. The point was not about the particular website. For example, look at twitter. You now need write a 300 character essay describing what your application does and wait for their human staff to actually review it. When it used to be: click button, receive key. And to imagine they don't look at your tweets and browsing history before approving you is just sticking your head in the sand.

I've had success scraping google images by using a list of searx instances as proxies. The api is pretty easy to work with. (https://github.com/asciimoo/searx/wiki/Searx-instances). It dosen't have the hand-tagging that pintrest does, but you can start using it right away.
