Y'all are hating on SystemD, but its wide adoption is evidence of its great performance. You all hate it because it doesn't follow your archaic "Unix Philosophy" and is made by a guy that people hate on for no reason, but it simplifies the operation of linux and makes the administration of multiple computers easier.

The days of Init and "wizardry" are over, stop living in the past.

>Prove me wrong

Protip: You can't. Productivity with SystemD cannot be beat.

if it means that nerds are paid less then its good. some unix nerd does not deserve over $100k every year for entering some commands on computers. with these modern systems anyone can do it and the unix nerds have to get a real job.

Wide adoption not necessarily equals quality, if you think so, you're a normie. Performance doesn't matter, when this shit is insecure, bloated and viral. It is widely adopted, because distro maintainers are lazy and systemd takes control over other important software.

I was going to port one of my projects over to Windows. Buy another computer. Buy Windows Pro for $200 install it on computer. Takes like 30 hours to finish updating. Install Visual Studio and needed components takes fucking three more days to finish. Fire up Visual Studio and start a project. Roller thing just spins. Finally loads start Building Windows form application GUI lags. Stressed out. Decide to abandon Windows other than running it in a Virtual machine as cannon fodder for testing metasploit payloads. Fuck your Windows productivity.

A lot of people talk trash about systemd but it is super easy to make system services. You just need to create a unit file that calls your program and put it into the correct directory then the reload systemd daemon and run systemctl start mynewservice. I'm an Ubuntu user. I'm thinking I will try out Gentoo since that's all anyone talks about. But honestly /tech/ we should roll our own Linux.

Oh look, I assume you're implying Windows 10 because in your opinion all versions prior are dead and/or irrelevant?

How to you exactly get productive with an init/system daemon or other things of that sorts?

Gentoo is such a meme. You'll be crying your eye balls off every time there is an update and you have to compile the package. Just install Arch Linux.
