How many of you uses a Cooling Pad under your laptop?

I've been using one for 8 years, and my Laptop works as good as it did on day one. Only occasionally opening it to get the dust out and repairing my Charger Input once.

It's also thin enough to carry alongside my laptop in the bag. I can't remember the last time that sweet side of the Laptop was hot enough to burn me since I started using it.

What are your opinions over this gadget?

Use a riser to open up the air intakes of the built-in fan, consumes no energy and takes up much less space

Useful if you're doing something high end on a laptop, but in that case you really should just get a desktop.

I always get one for my consoles I know they don't take air in from the bottom but it's not like it'll hurt it

if your laptop is overheating get a vaccuum fan, it clips to side of the vent port and sucks hot air out. probably not good for the stock cpu fan but those are usually shit anyway and this will keep your cpu under max temp even if the cpu fan stops working entirely

Works for me. There is a real distinction of performance when I'm using the fan compared to when I'm not. When the laptop gets hot, the heat interferes with the wifi signal and degrades the signal quality despite having a strong signal. When I'm using the cheap fans (in my cooling pad) that move air into the laptop allowing the hot air to circulate more than what's normally possible, I can use a hot laptop and wifi networking at the same time.
