Other than maybe (((satellite phones))), what other communication methods will work very long distances when the global infrastructure goes to shit in an apocalypse situation?

Even the satellites won't function after a couple months/years because they need constant calibration.

You can get quite far using radio/shortwave but thats not exactly global.

So it depends on the form of SHTF how much infrastructure remains.
