Is this list of the most decorated captains correct, /strek/?

Robert April and Christopher Pike were the previous captains of the Enterprise before Kirk.

Jonathan Archer was the captain of the first enterprise and first president of the Federation

Also I just remembered. Matthew Decker was the commodore who captained the USS Constellation and wanted to destroy the "Doomsday weapon"

I'm very surprised they didn't add a few more names to leave themselves some wiggle room in the future.

conspicuous lack of images for the captains in the graphic for that scene. more evidence that this shitshow is produced under license and is not a "real" Star Trek show. If the rumors are true, it's the nuTrek Paramount / Bad Robot license and stipulates that everything has to look different.

STD is a live-action comic book or cartoon, basically.

those aren't rumors it's been directly and indirectly confirmed. It's why they had to for instance change the look of the uniforms for nuTrek. It wasn't done for shits and giggles it had to be distinct from the original.

A big reason for this is because of just how huge Star Trek is with merchandising and branding. If CBS lost that branding the brand would be useless. JJ Abrams for instance wanted there to be only JJ Trek merchandise after his series, and CBS agreed only if JJ Trek merchandise was successful. When it predictably tanked JJ Abrams jumped ship to Star Wars.

They apparently had to license certain things from the original series separately like tribbles in particular because of these very specific license agreements.

Why isn't Garth on the list?

I somewhat doubt the writers even remember Garth

I do think that the writers were too dumb to set Discovery during the events of Axanar and were more annoyed at the budget and how marketed it was. I don't think Paramount/CBS expected the push back it got which is why I think there wasn't so much buzz around Star Trek Continues.

>>9717

Actually I think this more so confirms that they're not going to do Axanar. If they did they would've put Garth here and would've used it as a lead up to introducing him.

Either that or they plan to introduce him partway through the series and have him feature a hero's journey into becoming the hero that Kirk eventually worships in TOS but that seems less likely as the show is really pushing Michael as the hero of the series.

Axanar should be happening around the same time of CIScovery. The four years war should be in full swing.

It looks like in terms of canon, the Battle of Axanar could simply be a battle in this current conflict with the Klingons.

cbs feels threatened by a fan funded project that is more true to the original concept of star trek, has a better cast, has better writing, and actually respects the fans.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just make Axxanar a footnote in an episode and have Michael actually do everything

>Garth of Cuck

I should have seen that coming.

he is a white male, I mean we can't just let him get away with that.

behind every successful man is a woman etc. she will be the secret hero of axanar somehow.
