They sit there on twitter and make bold statements they'd never dare make in public, because they'd get the fuck beaten out of them. Best of Both World borg maybe could adapt and be frightening, but canon borg after voyager are immune to energy weapons only and Star Wars doesn't shy away from projectiles where it suits them. Fuck, they launch robots with buzz saws at fighter craft.
Besides that, the old canon values for star destroyer turbolasers are stupidly imbalanced to the point that a Star Destroyer could cook the surface of a planet by itself. Borg wouldn't be able to sustain that kind of firepower.
(((Disney))) Star Wars could be a different matter, but the old system had laser power scale from the death star's planetary destroying gun down to a hand blaster. The ship borne turbolasers were insanely powerful.

Revenge of the Sith shows a 3D space battle. The starfighters dive downward through layers of fighting ships fighting above Coruscant.
It's as 3D as anything Star Trek ever showed. Most often times the ships were all coplanar on TNG or TOS. It's only DS9 which showed 3D fights and they still talked about punching holes through lines.

This is why I'm worried about Episode 9 now that Jew Jew Binks will be directing it again. It seems that all he knows how to do when given an iconic property is just make derivative garbage that's full of "remember X" and "hey look it's Y" and "I CLAPPED WHEN I SAW Z" bullshit. It was tolerable in 7 because they weren't going to want to flop straight out of the gate, so playing it safe and hitting the nostalgia was okay (probably not as good as if it had been its own original thing, but at least it was no prequel). However, if 8 is more of that shit, I'm probably going to have to give up on Star Wars.
It's like the first two J.J. Trek films. Being full of hamfisted references was "ehhhhhh, okay, whatever" for the first one, but by the second one it was fucking disgusting. At least it gave me one of the worst cringe moments in film I've ever seen, when Spock poorly khaaaaan'd. Once it moved on to a new director who did something more interesting with the material than just "REMEMBER THIS," it became fun and watchable again (yes it was still a generic revenge plot, but it was more entertaining and gave all the main cast shit to do over the course of the movie).
I think the moral is, keep Jay Jay the Jew Plane away from movies unless you want abhorrently derivative shit.

I've lately taken to naming all my Lancer Frigates as quotes from the plane scene. It started because I name things by function, so Lancer Frigates are "LF". I always group Lancer Frigates in teams of four as the backbone of an imperial fleet, so naming them gets tedious.
So I created "LF inger", which led to "LF lightplan", "LF lysogood", and "LF orYou".

CG Tarkin's voice was absolutely worse than his uncanny valley effect. It sounded distractingly like a young man trying to do an "old man" voice.

Yes, it's a very tempestuous career, but I meant the "Dr. Who" movies in particular.

YMS did a show with some other guy who very aptly pointed out that star wars is basically for nerds who are one step away from dude bros, engaging in spring break wewing in the theater every time they see something remotely familiar in the force awakens.
they are like failed normalfags, but less sympathetic.

I heard a lot of the same behavior in the theater for the Star Trek reboot.
I have to imagine the percentage of people who like only Star Trek or only Star Wars and hate the opposite one is pretty small.

a lot of star trek fans will admit to also enjoying star wars, along with a lot of other hard science fiction (the first movie was made due to the success of star wars, but the story was basically created along the lines of 2001 a space odyssey).
most star wars fans do not like science fiction. the matrix is about as cerebral as they are capable of.

If there is any one sci fi series that is better than Star Wars and Star Trek, it's Stargate SG-1. 40k has been fucked over for years now. Enjoy your ancient Egyptian Necrons and retarded power creep that requires you to pay retarded amounts of money for figurines I could 3d print for pennies.

This is an odd complaint considering you like SG-1.

Not that anon, but the point was that Necron weren't so heavy on the Tomb Kings theme before and were more like an army of unspeaking terminators. A lot of 40k fans miss the old style and see the current style as derivative of Warhammer Fantasy and much less menacing. Whether or not anyone enjoys SG-1 is irrelevant.

Anons were too retarded to realize it

Reminder that it's in the producer woman's agenda to have a woman direct Star Wars. Not because she's good or talented or understands the series, but because she's a woman.

Star Wars is for children. Surely nobody on 8chan gets upset over canon changes to other children's media?
