There were even those episodes where the Maquis hijacked a shipment of twelve Federation industrial replicators which were being sent to Cardassia to provide relief in the wake of the Klingon-Cardassian War.
Some other episodes where the Federation gave farming equipment to Bajor, but the various factions wouldn't share the equipment and Kira had to go plea with them not to act like a bunch of africans hoarding gibs.

What's interesting about the Cardassians is that they go from being a Minor Power to a Regional Power rather quickly and that's before they joined the Dominion.
The amount of technological progress they made in less than a decade was staggering from having ships that could barely threaten a Federation warship to having vessels that could hold their own against even the best of the Major powers in the Quadrant. The fact that they were able to hold their own against the Klingons of all races was nothing short of impressive although there is arguments to be had that was down to Changeling sabotage of the Klingons and the Cardassians managing to weaponize Dukat's charm Of all the races in Trek they are by far the most resilient and tenacious, you really can't help but admire them. Although devastated from the Dominion War there is nothing to suggest that the Cardassians wouldn't quickly rise up to a position of power again.

Gail's website is magnificent. But for anyone wondering, she is a legit schizo with probably some more issues. Spiner is actually aware of her and there's a video on youtube (can't be bothered to search for it now, but I'm guessing searching for "Brent Spiner con Gail" will give you the result) where someone asks him about her. He's diplomatic about it, doesn't come out and say she's nuts, but he obviously thinks she's very disturbed. And no wonder considering how much Gail has shat on his wife.
