It seems to be determined by the daily amount of unique IPs. We shitpost enough that /strek/ ends up in the promoted boards at the top, and, eventually, we grab the users who notice us.
I suspect we might get more visitors on the days where /pol/'s short on happenings or when things are getting worse in world. I have no proof of that, but after reading three disastrous "Canada is cucked because this communist shit just happened" threads, I needed something to keep me from sticking my head in a woodchipper, and there was /strek/ at the top, calling me home to comfy-town.
