Can an anon find a SINGLE photo of a fire in Andover, MA from the Thursday happening?

Local officials said there were 35 total fires in Andover. MSM only has pictures from North Andover and Lawrence. Same four or five houses and pictures of them in Lawrence and North Andover are circulating, nothing else.

Something else is afoot… DIG.

Me thinks thou are correct. Something else is going on. I see the same house with the ramped garage driveway over and over and aerial views don't show any density like the maps. Seems like 3-4 buildings only.

as a firefighter (blackhelmetanon) we discussed these fires and how QUICKLY they were out, NOT UNDER CONTROL with extensive overhaul, just 'out'.

the photos show fires in the CENTER of the STRUCTURES which is UNCOMMON for a utility connection which usually is on a CORNER OF A HOME.

ALSO we discussed EXPOSURES to surrounding structures which evidently was not an issue?? STRANGE.

ALSO not one single picture of the FD response, no rigs, nothing to see here…

WHO can travel to these firehouses and LOOK AT THE RUN JOURNALS?

THAT MIGHT TELL US MOAR!

ALSO i forgot, modern meters have a preventative valve to prevent OVER PRESSURE.

AND most utilities install a similar but LARGER saftey valve for OVER PRESSURE on a block-by-block system to prevent sheering off meters and such.

this FF calls BS… but im excited to know it might be something much more glorious!

AND NO ONE GOT HURT?

Have an uncle in North Andover. It is single structure homes there.

Lawrence however has been a shithole for a long time now. Arson has long been going on there. By the way, different types of housing in Lawrence. Two and three-story tenament housing with not the best rentes. Drugs, crime etc.

Had family thrre. They all moved to get out of Lawrence.

It started as a mill-town with Wool mills that took advantage of the Merrimac River as a water source.

The polysester revolution of the 60s and 70s caused the mills to close down. Think about Detroit when they closed the auto factories amd you get a good picture of Lawrence.

My suspicion is that property vslues are ready to tip and owners are trying to get out if their leases.

A cousin retired from the fire department in Lawrence. The fires are set by lamdlords have been going on since the 70s.

Some are probably taking advantage of the camoflage given them by teports of gas smell to "put in a work order,"

I suspect the original, i suspect false, reports of gas odors came from the gas union workers on strike as a levetage ploy, and following on that were new, and probably anonymous, reports by landlords, laying a cover story for an arson.

According to this website (from three days ago)…

A total of 38 structures in Andover were damaged by the gas line over-pressurization, said fire Chief Michael Mansfield. The destruction ranged from singed basement floors and walls and damaged furnaces, to severely burned basements and some first- and second-floor fire damage. In most cases, there were varying degrees of water and smoke damage, as well.

However, Andover avoided most of the the significant structural damage suffered by some of the homes in Lawrence.

"There were no explosions in Andover," he said.

The reason, he thinks, is that, "We were farther away from the initial incident so there was not as much of a catastrophic effect."

That makes no sense. Some house are on fire, some are exploding, some have "singed basement floors and walls and damaged furnaces, to severely burned basements and some first- and second-floor fire damage

i visited my grandparents in Lawrence in 1976 and 1978.

They owned/lived in a kind of double-triplex old tenament property. Picture 2 three-story tenament buildings connected by a common basement.

These buildings in Lawrence were built after the "turn of the century".

OLD buildings with old piping dowm below.

MASS anons correct where I may err here.

I think the towns of Andover and North Andover are more modern, ie less old and decayed.

I know that my uncle who owned a 2-story tenament in Lawrence got out of there and moved to North Andover because it was and probably still is a "better area" with newer residences with newer infrastructure, ie gas lines.

Just speculating here but that could have protected Andover and N. Andover.

As for the gas pressure situation, we can probably turn a suspicious eye toward the gas union strike that is going on there.

Look for people to get arrested if they can start flipping perps.

>That makes no sense. Some house are on fire, some are exploding, some have "singed basement floors and walls and damaged furnaces, to severely burned basements and some first- and second-floor fire damage<

Actually varying degrees of damage may depend on what you are storing in your basement.

It may be that some have completely transitioned from coal oil heating furnaces to gas, while others are using natural gas only for cooking on stoves and gas dryers, while still having a tank of coal oil in the basement connected to the furnace for heating. Alot of folks here may not know that the buildings we are talking about still have "radiators" in separate rooms of the house. The water in these radiators is heated by coal-oil furnaces in the basement. Unless, they have upgraded/converted to natural gas furnaces.

A tank of coal-oil in the basement is an obvious possible cause for a burned out basement.
