A career federal prosecutor, Mr. Carlin previously served as National Coordinator of DOJ’s Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property (CHIP) program and as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) for the District of Columbia, where he prosecuted cases ranging from homicide and sexual offenses to cyber, fraud, and public corruption matters.
Mr. Carlin, who joined DOJ through the Attorney General’s Honors Program, earned his Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School, where he received the Samuel J. Heyman Fellowship for Federal Government Service and served as Articles editor for the Harvard Journal on Legislation. Mr. Carlin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from Williams College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.

It’s Halloween all over again, starring famous DTLA Hotels and their victims.
This time, believe it or not? it’s not the Cecil, temporary home of the Night Stalker, along with an Australian serial killer, falling newborn, a list of over 10 suicides or an innocent nonswimming virgin. But like the Cecil, the hotel does have a reputation for a few death jumps. Yet, unlike, the Cecil or other notorious DTLA limited stay options most of which border Skid Row, like the Barkley or the Hotel Alexandria, with so many ghost sightings you’d think the places were haunted, our new death barista is located in a swankier part of town, in the Financial District, to be exact – in the form of our very own, Standard Hotel on Flower.
We sure hate to compare the two, but the Standard has had 3 deaths in 3 years.
But let’s take a closer look at the question…Is the Standard Hotel the New Cecil?
When Andre Balazs opened the Standard in 2002 he took up the former headquarters of Superior Oil (now a part of EXXON Mobile), and turned the inner shell into a hotel boutique with 207 rooms, 24-hour restaurant, full-service Ping-Pong club, a rooftop bar complete with swimming pool and waterbed gazebos, stunning panoramic views, summer disco bikini parties and drinks, apparently strong drinks. Let’s just say the Standard is one of Downtown’s favorite spots, and rightfully so not considering the growing list of people who have opened the doors to the Standard and found the exit led to their deaths. Dying to party? Maybe, but let’s not pass the death torch to the Standard just yet.

But The Standard, is it a murderous escape room? Remember that murder shortly after 2:30am on Dec 13th, 2015? When glass shattering gunfire erupted by the entrance, and four people were struck, and one person was pronounced dead? Yes, that was a tragedy for the Standard. (deletions: more on the Cecil)
but…In Sept of 2014, a man jumped from the roof of the Standard falling 12 floors to his death. And yesterday, sadly, a woman lept to her death in an apparent suicide at 1:15 am possibly taking the meaning of “Last Call for Alchohol” to a whole new level. Ground Level.
But, no, once again the Cecil has seen more jumpers than a bungee chord training
course, which has included people landing in the telephone wires, on the skylight, and
even on the Marquee. So, hopefully, the Standard will make serious attempts to not win the crown for Morbid Hotels in the DT.
The Cecil will reopen soon, hopefully, the competition between the two doesn’t continue.
The Standard should in the meantime invest in some higher fencing. Maybe take a tip from OUE and install some higher boundaries, made of glass, of course, we wouldn’t want to disturb the view.

There was another [marker] that used the same method shortly after.
The other reason was the substance of the post. That email floated around during the 2016 election, but was declared false by Wikileaks. It's also written with a pretty tongue-in-cheek on the nose tone.
Q implied that this email was leaked by the white hats, but it isn't an actual email that was sent and could be verified.

I think this is what all the delay and talk of redaction is. Anyone who didn't commit serious crimes will have a chance of redeeming themselves, and in return their names will be redacted from the memo. I don't think Muller will be fired unless it comes out in the memo that he ordered the texts to be deleted or any other signs of bias. Trey Gowdy was on a news show recently saying that bias is something a judge will take very seriously though, so that is a possibility.
