The only thing wrong here is that those 3 peaks cannot be the Washington volcanoes, and MT rainier has a special profile that is unmistakable, and IT and other peaks in the Washington area are much further apart and would not look like that in the picture. This would make sense of how we were able to intercept it. It takes time to start the firing sequence and perhaps the Captain was able to make an emergency transmission signaling an imminent launch. Maybe that gave surface ships or aircraft time to splash it.

If 2nd sub is active US, here's the possibilities: 1) there were traitors on board in a position to act; 2) computer systems have become so compromised (thanks to Snowden), a launch was accomplished through back door command; 3) sub command received a fake communication (like fake call put through to Potus on AF1); OR, 4) this is a second rogue sub. The important thing is the launch was computer intercepted and "extinguished."

Missiles cannot be stopped "to space" as in leaving earth's orbit, because it would never make it past Van Allen belt. However if rerouted there, it would explode there on impact, which, if nuclear, would actually help replenish radioavtive ions needed in our atmosphere so communications work. Atmosphere was first loaded with ions from Adm. Byrd Antartica days. US, Russia, and possibly other countries fired nuclear into atmosphere on purpose for that purpose. But there is a radioactive life to the ions, requiring replenishment.
