There are ghosts in Equestrian culture, meaning that they do believe in some sort of afterlife. I was going to mention how morality is hard-coded into the natural law of their universe, but then I realized that the Tree of Harmony got retconned into being created by Star Swirl. I think the closest thing to a "spirit world" that has been shown so far is the dream world, which seems to be some immaterial plane that can also be physically traveled to.

I could imagine the spirit world as some type of plane of judging, like Purgatory. Since all ponies are pure, they would all go to some type of paradise.

But because some didn't do much virtue in their lives, they would get a paradise that is more shitty, like plane tickets.
