I can understand keeping Rainbow Dash since she's so popular, and I like the idea of earth pony Twilight, but why the fuck would they keep all six main characters? They ran out of story ideas for this cast two years ago.

Why couldn't they start over with an entirely new cast of poners? There are tons of recurring secondary, tertiary or background characters from not only the current, but previous generations too, that they could have chosen to focus on instead of the same old same old, even if they did tweak the designs and personalities slightly. It strikes me as incredibly lazy that they chose to stick with the same six characters we've known for the past eight years.

People -me included- who work on the new animation movie and series themselves have no idea why the direction at Hasbro decided to keep the mane six but change them for the worst. The staff however do hate Applejack's redesign, but remains aware they are nothing but executives here, and not decision makers.

I don't really like the direction it is taking so far, modelling, trying to make something intresting with the new design direction, but nothing really is static, it can still change if the people at Pawtucket accidentally get some IQ points and decide to target a wider public, or gain more interest from the rather successful franchise - despite the catastrophe of the last season. I ain't even watching the new episodes at this point.

Dear Hasbro,

I love the current rendition of the show and since I have not followed the MLP franchise, to me, this IS MLP. A story in it, with a cast that I have learned to know and love. Reiterating it, changing them like the leaked G5 is not going to make me like or even get interested in G5. On the contrary, I feel my memories would be defiled because I would feel like things are just not right in G5. Please reconsider the reboot and get an all new cast. An industry giant like You has the power to utilize the most creative minds on the planet, do not resort to rehashing in such a fashion.

I can see minor forms of magic being generalized, like a form of touch-based minor telekinesis shared by all to allow picking up and manipulating objects with hooves, or some agriculture-based magic for earth pones since they're the ones that do the agriculture. Those two would be consistent with G4 and already in place. Anything else is just stupid. What about alicorns, are they just going to not be there?
