In honor of yet another thing banned from /mlp/, let's have a fluffy thread. Classic fluffy only, no hellgremlins.
>What's a fluffy?
The premise is simple: In the near future, Hasbro creates a genetic engineering wing, Hasbio. To capitalize on the success of Friendship is Magic, they create the world's first "biotoy", a living, talking pony. Before the development is completed, PETA strikes the facility and releases the prototype fluffies into the wild where they breed like wildfire, quickly becoming both super popular pets and a petty nuisance in the wild.
>Why do people like it?
Most fluffy art is about cute, friendly creatures in Happy Tree Friends -style disasters. While abuse is the most common genre, there's also hugbox about the sheer happiness of fluffies, and sadbox where their tragedies are shown in a serious light. The categories overlap a lot, but most of all its about creatures genetically designed for love, friendship and the comfortable life of indoor pets, dealing with the real world where accidents happen and fluffies are cheap and disposable.
>What's a hellgremlin?
Hellgremlins are an offshoot of the fluffy fandom with a completely opposite idea of what fluffies are like. Whereas classic fluffies are kind and innocent by their very genetic makeup, the hellgremlins are all irreprehensibly evil rapists, murderers and sociopaths. The classic fluffies are lovable little idiots, while the hellgremlins were designed by /b/tards for the sole purpose of being despicable and aggravating in every conceivable way. I'm not even exaggerating here, the phrase "all the worst of humanity condensed" is quoted almost religiously as the way hellgremlinists see fluffies, as their ability to provoke rage is the only thing compelling their fans to get trolled by them.
While fluffybooru.org has now become a containment site for the hellgremlin fandom, there's some good classic stuff at http://fluffy.booru.org . With the old main site of the fandom lost to hellgremlins the classic fandom is scattered around different imageboards, but I'm hoping the fluffy.booru could rise as the new hub site for the fandom.
