Exactly. Applejack's character was constructed without any room for improvement or life goals. She starts out without any major personality flaws to overcome and without any dreams to strive for. She's so static as to be boring.

I know this would trigger a huge autism storm, but fuck, if she's so into family, you could always have her start one of her own or something. Or we could have seen Sweet Apple Acres grow from a two-pony farm into a thriving plantation under Applejack's leadership. Pinkie Pie as a fictional horse that makes people happy has a more positive impact on the real world than you do.

That's what I love most about Rainbow, Rarity, and Twilight. They not only took on more ambitious roles in their lives, but actually succeeded at doing so with resounding success. Slowly becoming a great wonderbolt, entrepreneur, or princess over the course of several seasons of the show. To look back at episodes from years ago and to see just how far they've come, it makes me feel so proud of them.

Pinkie hasn't really gone anywhere. She still works at the same bakery from season 1 and I'm actually pretty okay with that. She doesn't need any big ambitions to make her episodes enjoyable, because her super cheerful and wise-cracking personality can still carry them rather well imo. Although her comedy can be Very hit-or-miss, it's still nice to see a fun-loving character who is pretty content with her current position in life. Having a lot of fun, a lot of friends, working her dream job, and generally being happy all-around every day of her life. What more can you ask for?

Fluttershy got over her social anxieties…. I guess. I dunno, man. Confident Flutters just isn't as likable to me as shy Flutters imo. And besides that, much like Pinkie or Applejack, she hasn't really gone anywhere in life. Still residing in her little grass cottage and with all her animals as ever, I see. To be fair though, they did try to make her more ambitious with the opening of the animal sanctuary. But that very goal was also met in the same episode it was introduced. Making it feel ungratifying imo because it honestly didn't feel like she worked very hard to attain her aspirations. The writers simply just handed it to her on plate.

Applejack is still fucking boring as ever. Still stuck on her dumb farm with her apple obsession. Unchanging in how utterly uninteresting and unambitious she is.

Suffocating as in she has no concept of personal space or privacy as I pointed out with nosy and leads into high maintenance with her constant need for attention. There's also the one episode where she made Fluttershy cry by constantly being in her face. Even though it was painfully obvious she was in distress.
