You've grasped the idea most of the way anon
You have to account for the people who have no creativity period
How the hell are they going to come up with ideas for a reasonable OC?
Let alone find an artist willing to create an OC for you from a typed description rather than a drawn refrence?
At least with these full pages of adoptable ponies you can pick which one is the least autistic in your own eyes
Also if your adopted OC seems autistic to others, you arent to blame, its all the artist's design
As for the payment part
People who use bases need to get off their high horse and stop asking for more than 5$ per adoptable OC
Otherwise, if it's an OC that the artist can take full credit for drawing and imagining the OC, then MAYBE it can be worth 10$ and only because of $ x time x effort= Price
