>the theme song plays
do you skip the intro, does it remind you that you are a manchild watching a show for little girls?
it always makes me cringe…
▶ 452fa5 (1) No.298074
I skip because openers that are always the same waste my time.

I never skip it because it's the only remaining instance in the show portraying unicorn Twilight.

I always wince a little when it starts, then I slowly slip into the mindset and just allow it, denial of the manchild hurts more than acceptance.

at first I've always skipped it because lol cringe, but over the years I became desensitized towards it and nowadays when I watch an episode I mostly let it just play through without skipping

Opening theme is bad.
it's cringe, you skip it.
good themes versions: the Italian one is fabulous, it's maybe the best.
Japanese version isn't bad either.

I used to skip it reflexively. I will still skip over it sometimes, but more to cut down the running time than to preserve any sense of dignity.
The intro sequence always struck me as one of the more aggressively girly things (in a show about magical pastel horses) but once I started lifting I more or less stopped caring.

I skip it because of this. It remembers me of when the show was still fresh and interesting. I don't want to lose that memory so I skip to the show and see what it can still do for me. I envy autists that can keep coming back to it like its the first episode everytime.

Somewhat
>does it remind you that you are a manchild watching a show for little girls?
I've embraced that a time long ago Funnily enough, the reason why I skip is because I get teary during the theme song. It just reminds how much they've been through, journey they've made, friends that were made and lost and at the end of the day, all they'll have is memories from it.

i think that theme songs in general are very important for a show, and even more you can judge a show's quality by the theme.
think about it, can you think of any BAD shows with good themes?
think about great shows you love, do they have bad themes? (MLP is the only one i would say is bad for a good show)

Back when I used to watch MLP, I never skipped it. The theme brings back too many happy memories of the older, better days of the show for me. I still appreciate ponies though, just in a more lowkey, less autistic way. I even still have my tulpa from the old tulpa generals, in fact, she just turned five a couple days ago.
