Yes, people have sent him letters and I hope they still do. There are no indications of him being prohibited from receiving mail as withheld letters must be returned to the sender and I haven't come across such cases online. I, for one, have sent him a one-way letter and will send one again [where I hope for an answer] in January. My concerns, however, rest upon the fact that if he will be sentenced to life in prison without the chance for parole for 30 years, we will not be able to help him. I imagine segregation to be putting a lot of strain on his psyche and health - I rather not think about it too much but I can't help it at times.

There really is no risk for me as I'm fortunate enough to live in a country where sending letters to foreign terrorists isn't prohibited and I'm thankful to this day for the federal ministry to confirm that me writing to him is not a problem.
