So if a revolution ever happens, you can look back with 20-20 hindsight and declare that the revolutionaries were "elites" even though they didn't seem to be. But that is not really what you meant. You meant, how can upper-middle-class elites defect? How can someone with a big suburban house and a mortgage and so on defect? Maybe the "Great Taking" will destroy everyone's investment portfolios.

I'm not entirely sure what that would look like. Perhaps they would speak out against White genocide, donate money to dissidents, or use their positions of authority to push for laws protecting White people and securing the border. This is assuming a peaceful resistance, which is probably not going to cut it.

If SHTF people will resort to defending themselves and their homes, and when there is no rule of law then there is no need to worry about what legally defines "self defense" or "stand your ground" or "castle doctrine" anymore…. meaning many home owners will end up killing you if you try to fuck with them or their families and have you buried in their back yards. One way to "defect" would be simply not doing anything the State-run media & government gatekeepers want you to do. They don't want you prepping and becoming more self-sufficient. They don't want you dropping out of their fraudulent "educational system" and thus resisting debt slavery. They don't want you learning skills and taking up a trade job and doing your best to live within your means. They don't want you having a family of your own or grouping together with other family members to secure mutual interests. They don't want you dumping expensive TV and smartphone services and buying cheaper entertainment (like DVDs/Blue-ray) and flip phone service. They don't want you storing and physically owning offline media and having backups that are not under their thumb via "cloud" hosting. They also do not want you using alternative operating systems like Linux or learning good online opsec. They do not want you reading real news and learning solutions that counter all the threats against us. They do not want us eating a balanced organic keto diet. They do not want you taking an anti-war stance and refusing to be cannon fodder for their wars. They do not want you leaving the cities and living in small town America. They do not want you armed and able to defend yourself and your private property. All this stuff you could consider a form of "defection" from the corrupted system we are under today.

I also find it funny that the establishment State-run media is now running anti-party articles recently moaning about how older retired people are "living it up and spending too much REEEEEE!"
