There is literally nothing left to trust in the USSA today. Everything has been hopelessly corrupted: the media, the educational system, the judicial system, unions, corporations, banks, congress, the government, the military, every fucking thing has been corrupted and subverted. Therefore there is literally nothing worth fighting for besides your own family and private property today. Chances are the biggest threat you will face is from the enemies within this country rather than any foreign intervention or foreign entanglements. Knowing this to be absolute fact, we simply have to be prepared for the worst: a continued slow yet systemic collapse into a third world failed state, fallen empire.
