Also I am unable to search for boards: nothing loads when I search any terms, in either titles or tags.

First, the easy answer. The directory /dir/ doesnt contain all the boards because it's maintained by a physical person, possibly a user who no longer visits the site. In order to updated the directory you need to make an add request on the board.

As for why the site is being fucky, i dont know. Sometimes boards and pages just disappear and then reappear a few hours later. The claims page which last week contained many boards is now blank. I was randomly thinking on my way to work today what a war between China and the U.S. would look like. Figured it didn't need its own thread so I'll post it here instead.

I ruled out nukes easily since both sides would just launch protocol NO-U and wipe out all of humanity in the process, so a land invasion would be most likely.

China would have to establish dominance in its own region first, but that shouldn't be too hard if you can just throw millions of bugmen at Japan and South Asia, as well as Australia to be safe. Then they'd make their way across the Pacific and go island hopping like the Japs in WWII. Again, their actual weaponry may be total garbage but overwhelming quantity can make up for quality. Most islands are indefensible on their own and there's no way the U.S. could get enough troops out fast enough to safeguard them, so Hawaii would probably be the first major U.S. holding to fall. After that they'd probably get close enough to the mainland to start a bombing campaign across the West Coast. This is when civil panic would start setting in, since all the silicon valley retards have their servers and mainframes there. Normal life would be disrupted across the nation, and fall into complete anarchy on the West. Once everything has been softened up enough they'd probably do a land invasion and occupy the major cities (Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, etc.). It'd be much easier for troops to start pushing them back since they can mobilize faster on their own soil, but extended bombings may make traversal more difficult if they knock out the highways.

I guessed that their initial blitzkrieg would run out once they hit the Bible Belt because then they'd be dealing with not only National Guard but also a few million angry Clydes and Cletuses who are yearning to shoot down bugmen whenever they get a chance. Que Stalingrad-esque stalemate around major cities (Houston, Dallas) indefinitely.

That's about as far as I've gotten, so you can call me a retard now for not knowing anything about modern warfare.
