Sen. Bernie Sanders, the frontrunner for the Democrats' presidential nomination, doubled down on his support for some of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro's policies, saying in an interview that aired Sunday, "it's unfair to simply say everything is bad."

Speaking to CBS News' "60 Minutes," Sanders, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist, pointed to social welfare programs introduced under Castro's regime that he described as redeeming, despite the communist dictator's often repressive human-rights violations against Cubans.

"We're very opposed to the authoritarian nature of Cuba but you know, it's unfair to simply say everything is bad. You know? When Fidel Castro came into office, you know what he did? He had a massive literacy program. Is that a bad thing? Even though Fidel Castro did it?" Sanders told Anderson Cooper.

Fidel Castro relinquished power to his brother, Raúl, in 2011 after nearly half a century in charge of the island nation; Fidel died in 2016.

Some Republicans jumped on Sanders' comments. "It really makes a difference when those you murder at the firing squad can read & write," Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, tweeted.

Castro did this to make propaganda more effective and nothing else, Savitri Devi explained this many years back before Castro was a thing.

>Democratic Socialist

>Always called himself a socialist and now hides under a hyphen Democratic label despite being independent for almost 60 years and.

>TFW even though you give everyone things it is controlled what can be taught or be teached at a certain time and weather or not you can have something if the government deems you worthy of it

>TFW you praise Venezuela and then 2 years it collapses due to socialism is the steps towards communism

>TFW you praise Communist Russia saying it's a good system

>it crashes 3 years later

>Always talks about infrastructure but never about food or supplies.

At some point a failed ideology needs to learn from history than to repeat it. Even if you do institute communism only the rich survive and you create a serfdom of your own volition. I swear Bernie voters are absolute fucking retards that are all about that free shit without understanding the consequences of economics.

>it's unfair to simply say everything is bad

Isn't this one statement objectively the truth, though? Bern's a filthy (((politician))) and a commie, but I refuse to believe Castro managed to set up some sort of Bizarroworld down there where everything is exactly the opposite of the US. This smells like the press once again being poor sports because someone they hate is making political gains.

It wasn't "free" and it wasn't "education", it was taxpayer-funded government propaganda / indoctrination programs. Just what socialists would love here, they want us paying for their brainwashing SJW curriculum and liberal 'art' classes. The only jobs these idiots end up getting are governmental bureaucrat jobs anyway [which explains why our government is becoming so fucking stupid, greedy, immoral and corrupt today].

Worse off, Bernie could not be promising "free" stuff at a worse time. What's that going on in China again? A pandemic that is crashing the global economy and already disrupting the supply chains around the world!? Very soon we will be seeing shortages and higher prices …..and yet Bernie wants to raise our taxes and pass massive governmental budgets that would increase our deficits ten-fold? I don't see this working out so well when one of our biggest supply chains we rely on for imported goods is in the midst of an economic crash! Unless America gets its shit together and re-industrializes [which is impossible for most youth today to fathom: lots of hard work] then the future is not looking too bright and we will face another great depression era.

I'm telling you what folks, if you are not getting prepared you are hopeless and in for a world of butthurt very soon.

Hiding behind the term "objectivity" is insincere in this circumstance because the nature of politics means your words carry weight and implications. It is poor form for a politician to make such a comment. I understand context is relevant, but tact is important.

Not only that but we can go back to the USSR, even as recent as Venezuela when everyone said how great socialism was before it collapsed all over again.

When are you actually going to provide an argument other than posting memes about how communism happened and failed, or something about Tumblr feminism which has nothing to do with Communism and hasn't been relevant since 14' gamergate? Pol Pot actually wasn't a Communist (calling yourself Communist doesn't mean you're actually a Communist if you do nothing even remotely political… same would go if you called yourself a Nazi and married a Jew), Venezuala isn't Socialist just because they nationalized the industry - - - the government owns the industry, not the citizens. Nationalization via government isn't Communism or Socialism. No one argues that Venezuala is good. If they do, then they truly are uninformed. Finally, the reason why people say Communism hasn't been tried, is because it hasn't. Communism (AKA Full Communism, hence the gay subreddit Full Communism), and Anarchism are synonymous. Communist wants to achieve Full Communism through Socialism. An Anarchist wants to achieve Communism (or Full Communism, or Anarchy) by skipping the Socialist state idea and going straight to it. The reason why you see so many people argue today about how Communism should be brought today is because Lenin fucked things up w/ the idea of a vanguard party which was supposed to lead the Socialist state into Communism. In laymen's terms this essentially meant having a group of supposedly dedicated Communists that would never betray the cause usher the Russians into Full Communism. What happened is Lenin died, Stalin was now at the head of the Vanguard, and then in essence told everyone to eat his cock and became a dictator. Communists of today generally (90% I'd say) don't like this idea of a vanguard party. That's why they shit on Stalin and Lenin and say it wasn't tried properly. As for the Cheka, they slaughtered a shitload of the ruling class and white guard, along with their families. I'm not sure what you would expect from a group of angry ex farmers that had been living under a literal Tsar in 1917 to do. Stalin was a dictator and killed his political opponents. This would be the same thing as Operation Hummingbird or various other purges committed by Hitler. I know I sperged out but I can't take the memes anymore.

I'm afraid to ask, to be honest. Did they get shafted with rape-apes, as well?

You may be right. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything, given that I'm a fucking leaf and our faggot-in-chief lauded Castro after his death rather than condemning his tortures. However, I will stand by one thing: Bernie is the dem's Trump, and the jewspapers hate the fuck out of him. Expect them to lie about him at every given opportunity. They can't call him a nazi, obviously, so expect pedo insinuations or something along those lines.

So are you saying Socialism is Communism? Or are you saying Socialism leads to Communism? And if so, does Full Communism not end up ever happening because Socialism fails?

That wasn't exactly my point anon. I said there is a pandemic going on in China that is going to disrupt global supply chains (goods you purchase) and Bernie is grandstanding about giving away "free stuff" to everyone while we could be seeing mass shortages due to the collapse of a heavy industrialized nation like China (which the US still relies on for so much shit). I'm saying Bernie could not be promising "free stuff" to everyone at a worse time is all.

>What happened is Lenin died, Stalin was now at the head of the Vanguard, and then in essence told everyone to eat his cock and became a dictator.

Anon, that's not so much a failure of communism as much as it's a failure of pro-governmental ideology. The same can happen in any capitalist, socialist or fascist system as well. This is simply what happens when governments are granted too much power. They become gangs that abuse their power to steal wealth, and like any other gang they kill those that stand in their way. This is why governments must be limited, or they become great vectors of abuse and exploitation.

>dictator did good things

Wrong.

When an illegitimate government does anything, it's still not a good thing.

He may as well applaud organized crime syndicates for the charity work they do with the money they steal. Once again, All actions performed with power or resources gained illegitimately is illegitimate

they're not socialist.

they pretend to be socialists, while thinking themselves communists, and in fact being cultural marxists.

their support of fags, migrants, femishits and the sort quite clearly demonstrate that.
