Rap will become disco in the next 10 years

It already has. The only difference is that no one's setting fires in Comiskey Park as a way of saying enough is enough. Such an event would probably be more beneficial to black culture than shit like the riots for Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and Rodney King.
No.95744
its been out of date with the "kool" mainstream crowd since the late 80's tho
No.95748
Yea, c'mon guys, rap about the brand of shoes you wear and how big your gold chain is, that won't lead us down a path of hedonistic materialism.
No.95750
He made some solid points. Back in the day they would make entire songs for random shit. Now all you can say is FUCK TRUMP and that’s political
No.95751
Whats the big deal? Gangsta rap was a jewish creation. Now its kids rapping abot depression.

this is the infinitychan equivalent of
>95% kids choose to listen to rap. post this on your wall if you are in the 5% who listen to metal \m/
that i would see on myspace as a teenager
i'm by no means a fan of the genre but your predictions are retarded. rap has stayed p strong as one of the "big" genres since the late 80s, even with the abomination that was the infusion of metal and rap in the early 00s. there's an entire culture behind it, not just a scene and unfortunately it has at least 10 years left in it

I brought this up with a friend recently; his response was a flat "No". His reasoning was the difference between the over-saturation of disco and that of modern day rap is accessibility to other genres. Back then rock stations/DJs were being told to incorporate disco into their lineups and disco was practically unavoidable. Now if you want to hear something different we have things like portable music players, spotify, youtube, etc. In actuality I find the over saturation to be directly caused by the listeners themselves, as whenever I hear anyone playing their music publicly it's rap near 100% of the time. Apart from occasionally hearing "Lose Yourself" on the local rock radio station, I haven't noticed anything like disco happening.
I do think rap could benefit from some time out of the spotlight for once, maybe then the whole "bitches, guns, and money" image would subside a bit without the undertones of massive success. I'm sure all those people that say "check out my mixtape" aren't trying to voice themselves artistically or anything, they just want to get to the top.

Rap is on its way out, but what's going to replace it is just straight up Latin Pop, so be careful what you fuckers wish for.

I think due to how we search and how recommender systems work, we're going to see music move towards being less defined by it's genre and more by it's vibe. There will be "party music", "chill out/study music", "epic music", "spooky music", etc. Some of the most popular music videos produced by independent artists are the "1 hour of emotional piano music" videos on youtube.

Listeners choose from what is promoted.
Companies decide what you can choose from. Nice try kike.

My point still stands. The radio used to be the only source of music aside from your own collection, now people have access to spotify and a near endless source of music from different genres. Comparing the drones who can't look past a banner ad to having the only rock station in your area start playing disco is erroneous. Alt-rock has sold its soul to pseudo-hipster commercialism and country has become a literal parody of itself.
There's more to this than just "jews", you know.

I really wish every subculture-based genre would go the way of Punk already and fucking die. The music sucks dicks (from the incoherent gargling and screeching of extreme metal to the incoherent mumbling and grunting of rap), and the fans are all cunts, but not the good cunts.
