 No.95619

They have a dark and broody post-punk influenced sound which is always broken up by spacious and anthemic melodies. The singer has a gruff but pleasant style with simple yet memorable and sometimes outright weirdly original lyrics.

With Nurse, Troublegum, Infernal Love and Semi-Detatched, they had a remarkable run of four excellent albums which should be heard by anyone interested in 90's rock music. You can get these as a remastered box set along with some unreleased material (Gemil Box Set).

Instead of trying to go needledrop on you faggots any further, I will just leave you with the standout tracks of each album:

Nurse: Gone, Neck Freak ("I hate it when she makes me feel"), Disgraceland

Troublegum: Screamager, Unbeliever, Lunacy Booth (There’s a female voice joining in on the chorus which results in a really odd but catchy interplay between the two)

Infernal Love: Jude the Obscene, Bad Mother, Stories, Diane, Moment of Clarity

Semi-Detatched: Lonely Cryin’ Only, Straight Life

 No.95658

They always came off as a smoother, less intense Fudge Tunnel to me
