this was seriously disappointing. there's only one good song on it (Montana), and even that one's not nearly up to the standards of his previous albums.

I believe I understand what he was going for: a more subdued, simpler sound to put more focus on the lyrics, which are obviously very important to him personally. that's a respectable idea, but it just turned out into a really boring album. sorry Adam

At least the Weed Song on it was good, but I remember my friends and I literally laughing out loud at how comically bad this album was when we first listened to it.

Every album until Mechanical Animals is pretty solid. Manson was good at surrounding himself with the right people, but when he stopped doing that his music went to shit.

While this album eventually grew on me, it's easily their worst. "Hollywood the Second Time" and "Joanne" sound like Depeche Mode knockoffs(the latter actually being passed off as a DM bootleg), and "The Grass is Greener" just sounds lazily composed. From what I've seen in interviews, this was supposed to be about disenchantment with the ideal American life with "Do It Again" setting the stage. "Elvis Bought Dora A Cadillac" and "Country Of Man" play on that very well and they're easily the best tracks, but overall the theme is pretty difficult to salvage.

10,000 Days wasn't terrible but it was the most unoriginal album Tool ever released.
