I once met a guy online who advocated abstaining from listening to music (instead you should make it yourself if you want music) because similar to the internet porn theory that the unlimited access leads to excessive consumption and dopamine burnout.
All of this was in the pursuit of productivity whilst lowering his expenditures. It is a way to become wealthy and financially independent. When you don't have any attention sinks, the only choices you're left with are doing something productive or sitting on your hands doing nothing.
I would say it depends on what you want to do with your life. It is really easy to get stuck in this mindset of chastising ourselves and the things we love because in the back of your minds we think we could be doing something "better, more productive, more worthwhile" etc. The trouble if you're not genuinely motivated to do any of those things, let those thoughts go and invest yourself in what you care about, because any efforts you make doing what you think you ought to won't be your all and you'll get to the end wising you had sacrificed whatever you gained for what you sacrificed in the first place.
