Some I can think of off the top of my head

>The Slip - made in three weeks

>The Fall - made in a month

>Saturation - made in less than a month

What are some others you guys know of?

This was apparently made in two weeks

 No.94585

Led Zeppelin I took over a day and a half to record, according to Jimmy Page. Before that, numerous surf and garage rock albums of the 60's were recorded in a matter of days or in a week. Same case for some punk rock albums released immediately in a span of years following 1977.

Six weeks in total.

Still fast, though it's not surprising. Human After All is extremely repetitive even by Daft Punk standards.

 No.94587

The first Beatles album was recorded non-stop over the course of 2 days or something, wasn't it?

 No.94591

You could record a whole album if you just play music non stop for an hour then end it. It's not hard.

 No.94592

>>94591

OP obviously means well produced albums.

So did I

Shitting out a bunch of improvised music for an hour isn't exactly well produced. I feel like you're acting intentionally obtuse for no reason.

2pac's Makaveli album: seven days.

Ramones debut album: seven days.

Foo Fighter's debut album: seven days (with all instruments by Dave Grohl apart from a guest guitarist)

Shit this list could be really long so let's speed it up a bit.

Velvet Underground's White Light/White Heat: two days.

Nick Drake's Pink Moon: two days nights (acoustic solo album)

Hüsker Dü's Zen Arcade: fourty hours (only two of the 23 songs aren't first takes)

Black Sabbath's debut album: recorded in one day, mixed the second (although which exact day it was recorded is disputed)

Another Side of Bob Dylan: recorded in one day, mixed after midnight (acoustic solo album)

Cowboy Junkies Trinity Sessions: recorded in one day apart from the a cappella "Mining for Gold" which was recorded a few days later according to the band.

Oh and fuck Jack White. And no this wasn't from the top of my head, I had to look over half of these up only remembering they were recorded quickly. And no I'm not a fan of all them, faggot. We're just talking records here.

>>94587

Ten songs on the album were recorded in thirteen hours. The four other songs however were singles they had recorded previously so the album always gets "disqualified" over that.

>Black Sabbath's debut album: recorded in one day, mixed the second

You won't think it, with some of the albums here you could kind of guess they were made quickly, but I would not have thought that about Black Sabbath.

Albums are recorded in a day. You play the song and then you play the next. Wtf are you doing more than 3 weeks in a studio?

 No.94635

>>94634

OP said albums made, not albums recorded.

All the albums he listed were written, recorded and mastered in those time spans. It's easy to do what Buckethead does and play some random notes for 40 minutes and release it as an album, but making a heavily produced record takes a lot more effort.

Take Gotye, for example. It takes him several years to make each one of his albums.

>OP said albums made, not albums recorded.

I don't know why so many dumbasses here like >>94591 don't understand that.

You would expect grown adults to have basic comprehension skills.

So what nigger Black Sabbath wrote and recorded Paranoid (the song) on the spot in the studio too. Losing My Religion was written in 10 minutes by REM. You're just a faggot glorifying a bunch of drug addled zombies wasting time in the studio trying to perfect the little beeps and fart sounds they electronically created by pressing a fucking button.

Anon, you clearly don't like this thread. I have to ask why you're posting in it.

Believe me, I've seen this cycle go down 100 times before. Entire threads get derailed because of one or two people arguing about stupid shit.

Can you just leave it alone? This thread is interesting and I'm sick and fucking tired of seeing interesting threads ruined by butthurt shitposters for no reason after so many years.

 No.94641

>>94640

>Anon, you clearly don't like this thread.

What gives you that idea? I'm giving examples of songs written in short times frames. It's just that only certain genres will fit the demand for "album must be entirely written in that time frame" because a rock band could do a cover or a leftover song from a previous album and suddenly it wouldn't count anymore. Only the shitty electronic music that OP likes would qualify. Great discussion here! Pretty much every other option that has been mentioned from improvisation or the posts about albums recorded in a short time frame get called "stupid" by a few other posters. But you say that I don't enjoy this thread? You're fucking retarded and owe me an apology.

>Believe me, I've seen this cycle go down 100 times before.

Then you've gone insane while obsessing over this dead board so much. Explains a lot.
